什麼是子宮頸癌疫苗？
子宮頸癌疫苗(HPV疫苗)是一種預防性疫苗。
根據醫院管理局2016年數據，每年亦有510個子宮頸癌新症，有151人死於子宮頸癌。
現時香港有三種子宮頸癌疫苗，分別為9合1疫苗、4合1疫苗及2合1疫苗。
以9合1疫苗為例，它可適用於9歲或以上的女性及男性。是美國食品及藥物管理局(FDA)、歐盟及香港衛生署認可之疫苗。
覆蓋9種HPV病毒：6、11、16、18、31、33、45、52及58。
約70%的子宮頸癌由 HPV16 和 HPV18 病毒引致，臨床研究顯示兩種疫苗對於幫助預防子宮頸癌相當有效*。
*該研究以CIN2/3為終點(endpoint)，以評估子宮頸癌疫苗的效用。
上述疫苗不能治療椰菜花、子宮頸癌、外陰及陰道癌、CIN、VIN或VaIN，亦不能預防非由HPV所引起的疾病。與所有疫苗一樣, 接種後未必能為所有接種者提供保護。
感染HPV的風險
只有一個或固定的性伴侶亦有機會感染
大多數感染可自行清除，但如持續感染，某些HPV型號可引致癌症及其他疾病
高達75%有性經驗的男女一生中有機會感染HPV屬十分普遍
